Last weekend this blue eyed boy went off to his new home to live with his new friend, Chickpea. Chickpea was Phumela’s first kit and her family decided it’s time to get her a friend.
Wallace is Mushroom and Levi’s kit who was born on 6 August 2013. He is such a placid little bunny and loves cuddles and body rubs. Mushroom has the cutest kits with adorable white markings.
Chickpea came over to meet Wallace when he was about 6 weeks old. We were a little apprehensive at first, but the two hit it off and chased each other playfully. He went off to his new home and I’m happy to report that after a weeks’ bonding process, the two are friends. They’re eating together and doing happy little binks together!
A friend of mine visited a day or two ago and it was the first time she handled rabbits. Of course she was at the right place if she wanted to be around bunnies and get to know how adorable they can be.
She was crazy about the small kits – obviously – they are so cute. But when she picked Levi up, he charmed her into being her favourite of all! He was so calm and sweet with her that I almost felt jealous! Levi really knows how to win hearts with those big blue eyes and little bunny kisses he makes in your neck…
Clover’s little kit is on the dot 8 weeks old now. She is such a little angel – so playful, loving and friendly. She loves attention and even makes her mommy a little jealous every now and then, if you ask me. As everyone knows, Clover is the favourite here and likes to make sure we don’t forget it, and no one else steels any of it away from her. In the photograph below, the two are quite snuggy together. It took a while for Clover to have babies, but she was really a good mommy to this little one!
During the night of Wednesday, 15 May 2013, Zoey had 3 little kits. In the photograph above it is noticable that the small one on the right is a peanut. Although I have seen this happen so many times, it remains terrible and so sad. It lived for 2 days and this morning it was dead. The other 2 are strong, lively and quite healthy. They have their mommy’s colouring.
Mushroom had one little kit yesterday morning, 5 May 2013. So far it seems healthy and well looked after. It is her first kit, so we are keeping a close eye. The kit seems to have “dutch” markings, but we will be able to see better in a few days.
Chloe and Zoey came back from their owners to us as they could no longer keep them. Now Zoey and Noah, in the photograph above, are together and we are excited to see what their kits will look like. Chloe has not been paired with any bucks and we are not sure if we are actually going to pair her up. She has been fighting with her sister Zoey for quite a while and we think we may try to find her a new home, rather. She is very cute and cuddly, but does not like to share attention. She likes to be princess of her own palace! This is an old photograph of the two sisters, below.
Levi and Mushroom have been paired up and Mushroom is at 30 days today in her pregnancy. I am very hopeful to have little black and white buns and maybe even one with blue eyes. Obviously I will keep you posted on the results! Happy weekend to all our bunny friends!
This little bun has got be the most reserved bunny we have ever had. She is now 9 weeks old and still with her mom and two brothers, but she does not interact with them at all. She hides under the toys in their cage whenever anyone approaches. She even hides when they get their food or treats! She hops like mad if you try to pick her up and when you do manage to pick her up, she breathes rapidly ,her eyes look like they are going to pop out of her head and she lies flat in your hands. The poor little bun looks terrified when you try to pet her. We’re giving her bundels of attention now to try and ease her shyness; hopefully it will work. She is quite small compared to her brothers, but very lively. She seems to be in a beautiful bunny world of her own.
Clover’s little kit is now about 3 weeks old and she is quite lively. Clover is very protective of her and does not like it when we remove the kit from their cage. She has a great shape, for her size, and a beautiful colour. It also seems she might have Clover’s coat which is half long and half short fur.
Bonbon is 5 weeks old in the photograph above and it is quite noticable that she is a big bunny. We are certain that she is a false dwarf, but we don’t really care…her personality makes up for everything! In the photograph below she is at 7 weeks. Her nickname now is King Kong! 🙂
